Relive a coder's fever dream.

A coder never thought a change could lead to a sacrifice. Can they reclaim what was once lost? Is their prison the only way to survive? Why does it all feel... unusual?

::maligna kodera; is a puzzle game prototype created for Bevy Jam #7. It's a manifestation of a fever dream I once had, which answers a question noone asked: what if our perception of reality was formed through IDE of a programmer?

In this world, you navigate by typing. Typing more moves you further into unknown. On your way, you'll learn to move towards new directions (not only right, but also up, left and down!). You'll need to master this ability in order to maneuver through the maze of an architectural world you found yourself stuck into, while constantly feeling like there's something missing...

Special thanks:

  • dazeeeed, who composed the first "theme" you hear in the game, but couldn't make more. I hope your exam went well!
  • Creators and contributors of Bevy game engine who made an interesting piece of software I had an opportunity to know more during the past week.
  • 4mat for creating "Paper Dolls", which kept me company during the most productive session of this jam! I hope it's okay for me to have a small snippet of it as an easter egg!
  • Everyone who uploaded sound effects to freesound.org under CC0 license, which allowed me to put together very cool soundscapes you can hear in this game.
  • Everyone who was willing to playtest this thing!
  • You, for playing it!
